Throughout the Coronavirus pandemic we have continued to provide 24/7 support to all residents of our student accommodation building. We have dealt with those isolating and ensuring they had food supplies, rubbish removed and that they were ok mentally right through to those who left to go home, who verbally abused the team to receive rent back. We have had to keep smiles on our faces and motivate each other so our customer service never slipped even though we were just as scared of the changing world outside the doors!
We have not been classed, as key workers by the Government so faced challenges with childcare and being unable to work from home had to continue our daily jobs. This put our families at risk each day who had been furloughed or were shielding.
I am telling our story as I think it is important that those who live in Student Accommodation realise the team behind the cleanliness, safety and well-managed buildings have families and outside lives that have been impacted greatly by this virus too.
I hope this pandemic brings people closer but also makes people kinder to those who work in Customer Service.
